Last night, a crowd gathered for some coffee tasting and pairing, (and some pineapple upside down cake), with our friends from Elysian. Between the two blends we sampled – a Soledad from Guatamala, and a Kochere from Ethiopia – Brad and Christina guided us through the process of matching flavours. Whether it was pairing the rich flavours with foods that complimented the blend itself, or working with an acidity within the coffee blend to create a smoother and more neutral palette, we explored ways to customize our coffee experience.
Whether it was the coffee itself, or the information on fruits, nuts, cakes and pairings, we were all buzzing upon leaving the lab – with our small takeaway of beans in hand.
