Keighty Gallagher has been making ‘tight’ a lifestyle – and willing to dish out her expertise to those who want to get ‘tight’ too.

When the lab’s lead designer – Jean Okada – saw Tight Club photos online, she was immediately intrigued. The Tight Clubbers seemed to all be creative professionals – filmmakers, fashion stylists, graphic designers and musicians – and she needed to meet the person getting all these creative types exercising together. Keighty’s design and promotion also helped – using her brand to draw in the same people she was seeking for workouts, caught our eyes as being some of the best designed promos we had seen in awhile.

Then, when we first walked into Keighty’s classes, we knew we were in the right place – a place where exercise didn’t define who we were. A mix of  different training methods, from pilates to pliometrics, athletic training to TRX, yoga to HIIT – and a place where Keighty’s always looking for ways to keep her training friendly, fun and social. Less a group fitness class, or traditional training, Keighty’s training and overall vision for Tight Club is that of a lifestyle, for people who value active bodies, creative minds, and balanced lives.

Upon approaching Keighty to do a lululemon lab collaboration with Tight Club, she was up for the challenge – knowing we shared her values of Tight Club as a lifestyle. The goal was to create technical gear that could double as lifestyle clothing – for those looking to get tight with Keighty, and then go hang with friends. In working with Keighty, the lab brought together a collection of pieces that establish the feel of casual technical gear, without compromising style. With Tight Club often being attended at night, visibility was key in the design – the graphics on the hoodies are reflective, as well as detailing on other pieces in the collection. Close attention was also paid to other technical aspects of the gear – loops and compartments for keys and cards, and mesh pockets tight enough to keep your goodies in, even while doing burpees (one of Keighty’s faves).

Last night, we took the lab approach to the collection kickoff – with a gathering of inspiring people, great food and drinks, and awesome art. With the reveal of the lululemon lab x Tight Club video, and the urban, reflective, Tight Club pieces lining the walls alongside photography by Tristan Casey, the night was drenched in creative vibes. After finally revealing the long awaited lululemon lab x Tight Club video – demonstrating perfectly what Tight Club works so hard to accomplish – everyone in attendance was ready to get Tight. With DJ Kutcorners providing the beats, the design team was able to  reveal the collection the lab has been working so hard on – pieces shown in true Tight Club style. The night was rounded out by a twerk competition, and a good party that went well into the night – while dancing alongside the new pieces, and the Tight Clubbers in attendance.
